TLDR: So I guess my question comes down to what systems emulate well on the new raspberry pi4? Would I be better off just building a micro atx custom pc and if so what specs should I shoot for if I go custom? I mean I don't need to put a Titan in it I'm sure.
Goal: emulate all or most games with simple easy to use methods and good quality (if there are just some games that won't emulate such as golden eye is there a list so I can try to collect those first?) I'll keep reading and trying to learn more about the hobby of emulating but I want to see what I should be collecting for and the weekend yard sales are fast approaching! Then I found another random video with no information but had a guy seeming to run the game perfectly fine but not sure on what kind of system. One guy I trust (ETA Prime) he had issues with his PI 4 it sorta worked but not really. I did some searching on youtube and I found conflicting videos.
The most recent emulation I tried was probably about 5 years ago on my Rasberry Pi 2B (I think I haven't touched it in years so I maybe off by a model and or year or two) Using retropi which worked well enough for NES & SNES.Īnyway did some reading on here and there seem to be emulators for everything now and the world is my oyster right? Well even a few years ago I remember N64 emulators were a thing but they kinda sucked especially for Golden Eye. I'm from back in the day when zsnes was the go to SNES emulator lol. After talking to local collectors I became aware more modern emulators are available. So I recently started down the path of retro collecting and made the decision to skip collecting NES and SNES since those were easy to emulate since forever. This is both a simple question and complex question.
